We regret to announce the Exotic Feline Breeding Compound (EFBC, Feline Conservation Center, the Cat House) has closed to the public as of February 10, and will close permanently soon. On February 9, 26 cats were relocated to accredited new homes in Texas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. Two more left the following week. The remaining 26 cats left on February 24, 25, and 26. No cats remain in Rosamond. Relocation list is here if you want to visit them (not all will be on display)
We have been dedicated to the protection and preservation of wild felines for over 40 years. We were founded in 1977 and opened to the public in 1983.
Many thanks to everyone who made donations for ongoing care of the cats. The GoFundMe raised over $10,000 which went towards food, keeper wages, the electric bill, and relocation costs. The gift shop sale on March 4 raised $11,293 (including some of the OfferUp sales).
Possible second date to get bricks and final sales on April 29, stay tuned
Check out the video of Raja's new home on the Facebook page, and Zeya's new enclosure. More cat updates will be made there as we receive them.
Many thanks to Windswept Ranch in Rosamond for picking up the scheduled tours we could no longer support.
The facility will still have electric and water bills going forward while court cases/bankruptcy are being resolved.
Checks can still be sent (made out to the full name Exotic Feline Breeding Compound) to:
